Homemade Fruit Juice

Recently I’ve been dabbling in making juices. I’ve been feeling pretty bleh lately and my body has really been craving fruit. While I like eating fruit, sometimes I just don’t want to. But juice has sounded so good so I decided to make my own.

I wanted to share some of the juices I made to inspire you to make something nutritious for your body. Especially with the flu still going around (at least here it is).

Green Juice:

Green Juice

Ingredients:

A handful or two of spinach
One banana
Frozen pineapple (1/2-3/4 cup)
One honeycrisp apple
1/2 cup Water*
Frozen berry medley (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)
Juice of one lime

Directions:

Blend everything together in a high speed blender until smooth. Add more water to achieve your desired consistency. If it’s not sweet enough for your liking, you can also add some pitted dates. My blender doesn’t always get all the spinach pureed enough, so I tend to strain it through cheesecloth to get that juice-y consistency.

Orange Juice with Added Goodies 1:

Orange Juice with Added Goodies

Ingredients:

Juice of 3 medium oranges
2 ripe bananas
Juice of one lime
One large mango
Frozen pineapple (1/2-3/4 cup)
1/2 – 1 cup of water

Directions:

Blend everything together in a high speed blender and voila! Of course, add water to achieve your desired consistency. I don’t strain these because the pulp is nice to have, especially when cold. You can strain it if you prefer less pulpy juice.

Orange Juice with Added Goodies 2:

Another Orange Juice with Added Goodies

Ingredients:

Juice of 2 large oranges
One ripe banana
One kiwi
Two small mangoes
One cup of freshly cut pineapple
Juice of one lime
1/2 – 1 cup of water

Directions:

Again, blend all the ingredients together and add more water as needed.

*I just want to point out that these are estimated measurements, as I tend to eyeball the ingredients. Add in fruits and veggies as you see fit, in whatever amounts you desire.
