Abacus is a restaurant that you have to see to believe. There’s nothing crazy looking about the place, nothing excessively eclectic. It’s just a restaurant you can go to and truly enjoy yourself every single time.
The first time we went to Abacus was in 2015. My husband’s uncle told us about the place and wanted to take us to enjoy a nice meal.
Now, I just want to say, I’d never really gone to fancy places before I started dating my husband. The fanciest meal for my family growing up was Olive Garden, and even that was a rare occasion.
When we went to Abacus, we were taken to a table in the far corner of the restaurant, away from a lot of the commotion. We sat in the restaurant for probably 4-5 hours talking and enjoying the food. Everything was melt-in-your-mouth magnificent.
Even to this day I am constantly blown away by the food presented to us.
I’ll share pictures of the food we’ve eaten over the past few years, as it’s all been amazing. As I said, I’ve constantly been impressed by the food Abacus presents, as well as the staff. I’m glad to say I’ve never had a bad experience while there.
This beautiful piece above is a Lobster Shooter. It’s a fried piece of lobster that sits in a shot glass of red chile-coconut sake. It sounds weird, but it’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever tried.
Something cool that Abacus does, on top of creating delicious, mind-blowing food, is they hold cooking classes. They hold several classes throughout the year, where you can work with the chefs of the restaurant and learn some tricks and have fun. They also serve a hefty amount of wine while you cook.
I was given the opportunity to take one of these cooking classes by my husband’s uncle and it was an absolute blast. I learned a lot of nifty tricks (one that I still use to this day when making bread pudding). We were also able to enjoy the food with our friends and family after it was all said and done. Overall, a wonderful experience and I got a cool chef’s coat.
